I am the son of Joseph Galard Ragsdale 1919-1997, grandson of Clarence William Ragsdale 1893-1989, great grandson of Colfax(unsure of spelling)Ragsdale. Family says dad/grandad were from Humansville, MO (soutern MO around Branson). The only info anyone had about great-grandad Colfax was they believed he was born in 1868. Grandparents, Dad & siblings grew up on the southside of St. Joseph, MO.

I have found a record of my grandfather, William Thurman Ragsdale in the WW1 draft registrations on your website, and am grateful for the info. He was registered in Everton, Arkansas in 1918. Anyone having a link with that relative, I would like to compare geneology information with if possible. Thanks for the website access and any help anyone can provide about this or related records.

I, like everyone else, am looking for information on a Daniel and Thurman Ragsdale, father and son respectively, who show up on the 1930 US Census accompanied by Gladys (Dixon) Ragsdale. Daniel would be my great grandfather, and therefore Thurman is my grandfather. Both men are believed to be of native american descent. Gladys would be my grandmother and am not sure if she was of native american heritage. They had a child (my mother, Betty Louise Ragsdale) in either 1929 or 1930 in or around Memphis, TN and had to leave her there in Memphis (in care of a couple who could support her) due to unemployment during the depression and the baby’s illnesses that they could not pay, for which bills were mounting. The babysitter said that they had come from Missouri. The ragsdales moved to Pyote, Texas and found jobs there, but were not able to retrieve my mother and she became an adopted child. I wish to find more information or a link to these ragsdales so that I may have contact with my descended blood relatives which I still do not know to this point. I have old letters from another relative that place them at a later year, possibly in California. Any link or information would be of interest to me.
