My husband's great grandmother was Mary Adeline Ragsdale, born about 1846. I have a letter detailing the Ragsdale history from my husband's side of the family, stating Mary Adeline Ragsdale married a Kincaid. It is too extensive to detail here, but would like to know more about the history.

This may or not be significant but in 1830 when Elijah Ragsdale was in Newton Co. Ga. His next door neighbor was Thompson Reeves b. 1799. Thompson is my Great Great Grandfather. In 1832 Thompson and his wife Cinderella had a son named Andrew Jackson Reeves. In adulthood Andrew Jackson Reeves married an Elizabeth Ragsdale. They had a good family that has done their research. Most of them eventually settled in Texas or Columbia Co. AR.

When Andrew Jackson Reeves and Elizabeth Ragsdale Reeves first moved to Texas they first went to Comanche, Texas

To help a cousin make a crop for a couple of years. They then moved back to a point near Texarkana where Elizabeth died before too long.

My question is of course was Elizabeth the daughter of Elijah Ragsdale and do you know any more about the possible

Connection with the Reeves Family ? I would be glad to tell you anything I know.

Andrew Jackson Reeves had an older brother named James Marion Reeves b. 1823. James Marion is my ancestor.

Sincerely, Tommie Reeves Smith

I am descended from Godfrey Ragsdale I, who died in the 1644 Indian Massacre at Henrico, Virginia, with his infant son Godfrey II surviving the massacre. Descendant Michael Ragsdale went to Banks County, Georgia, married Emilie Bond and had Sarah Ragsdale, who married Abner Massey and had Latranquil Massey, who in turn married James Thomas Ayers of Habersham, Georgia and had my grandfather Plumer Ayers, who married Myrtle Garrison of Banks County, and had Dorothy Lartanquil Ayers, who married my father Wallace Ford Martin of Toccoa, Stephens County, Georgia and had me. We have beautiful picture of the Ragsdale Mill at Banks County. Andrew Ayers Martin, M.D., J.D.
